She creates paintings leaving big room for interpretation to the viewer: because of the effects of structure and colour.
Her versatile works testify to passion, unease and restlessness and at the same time portrays a harmonic interplay between shape and colour.
I stumbled upon this artist entirely by accident and I'm so glad that I did. The use of line in this work is fantastic, the way the line distorts, jumbled at times, only to straighten out once more is so relevant to my project. The work is confusing at times. The contrast in some of these pieces between the clearer, straighter lines and the more confused parts could be used as such a good analogy for the differing ways that people see and experience the world.
The colours in the piece above give an effect similar to those in an optical illusion. The closely-packed, intricate detailing of the individual lines creates the effect of immense care and attention to detail. The webbing effect where these sets of lines meet and cross are particularly interesting, as each remains as its own separate layer, each with its own movement and distortion, and this is simultaneously magnified and blurred by the placement of another layer on top.
